MALATYA. Growers still suffering from the consequences of the severe earthquakes at the beginning of the year are to receive more aid. Meanwhile, apricot prices are holding steady while temperatures slide into the minus degrees.

Hardly any long-term contracts

While the daytime temperatures in the Malatya growing region are still a relatively mild 12-16°C, temperatures are even dropping below zero at night. Most farmers have now returned from their plantations to their homes, which are often in the city; they have sold or stored most of their produce.
