Dried apricots: Global production suffers setback

MALATYA. The smaller production of dried apricots in Turkey is also making itself felt on the international market. The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) has revised its global production estimates downwards.

 

Prices stable in the medium term

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) has lowered this year’s global production estimates by 17.6% to 186,800 mt over 2017/18. Contrary to this, the production estimates for this season still ranked at 213,800 mt in spring.

Almost 90,000 mt of dried apricots have been produced in Turkey this year. Together with the carry-overs from last year, supplies should amount to only 110,000 mt this season.
