Dried apricots: harvest of fresh fruit has begun

MALATYA. The harvest of fresh apricots has started in the valleys of the Turkish growing areas and there are first price indications. However, farmers are facing various hurdles in the upcoming season.

Possible quality problems

In Turkey, most entrepreneurs use the weeks before the start of the new season to bring their plants up to speed with the necessary maintenance work. The plants are therefore closed, the orders are largely completed and especially this year, when the earthquakes in February caused considerable damage in the province of Malatya, the repair work is more than necessary.

MALATYA. The start of the 2024/25 season is imminent and Turkish dried apricot exporters are making their first offers for the new crop. There was some rainfall in Malatya, but it did not cause any major damage.
