Dried apricots: Prompt deliveries are cheaper

MALATYA. The stronger Turkish lira is encouraging dried fruit traders to enter into long-term contracts more often.

 

Nominal price increase

Prices, especially for large dried apricots, are trending higher this week. In addition to long-term contracts, traders are also interested in prompt deliveries and the quick receipt of profits. Prompt shipments are therefore comparatively cheap. Buyers must, however, reckon with surcharges for long-term contracts. Due to the exchange rate the prices are below last year's level.
