Dried apricots: first purchases

MALATYA. Although there is virtually no produce available this season and most companies remain closed, some buyers have made their first purchases of dried apricots in Malatya. However, exports have slumped dramatically.

Turkish goods preferred

There is not much happening on the Turkish apricot market at the moment, which is no surprise given this year's total crop failure. Most companies have closed completely and only a few are operating at low capacity to process small orders from their regular customers. As a result, many employees are out of work this season. Buyers have started to purchase small quantities, as prices in other growing countries have also risen sharply and they still prefer Turkish produce.
