Dried apricots: rain poses a threat to crop prospects

MALATYA. Further rainfall in the main growing region is casting a shadow over the prospects for the Turkish apricot crop. Whilst prices remain stable, exports are significantly below last year’s levels.

Further rainfall increases risks

In the Turkish apricot-growing region of Malatya, numerous districts experienced further rainfall last week. According to the Turkish Meteorological Institute, further rain is expected over the course of the week. Night-time temperatures are expected to range between 12 and 16°C, with daytime temperatures between 28 and 30°C.
