Dried apricots: rise in exports despite earthquakes

MALATYA. Although the earthquakes in Turkey prompted delays in January, a rise in exports has been observed. The market is expected to run smoothly again in February and March.

Shipments to rise further

Although the market witnessed a rise in overseas shipments in January, the impact of the earthquakes did prevent more dried apricots from being shipped. Exports are expected to climb further in February. Traders, in addition, reckon that overseas demand will increase as of February, which should prompt a rise in prices. However, it should be noted that the outbreak of the coronavirus has prompted a standstill in shipments to China.
