Dried apricots: stagnation persists

MALATYA. There is still hardly any trading activity on the Turkish apricot market and exports are more than sluggish. Traders and exporters are correspondingly frustrated.

Stable export prices

Frustrated Turkish market players report that the dried apricot market is still virtually flat. The commodity prices for high-quality goods are between TRY 150-155/kg, for fruit spotted by rain and hail between TRY 135-140/kg; if there is serious interest, suppliers will also agree to certain price reductions. Organic apricots currently cost TRY 250-280/kg. While 10% of last year's crop were sold as unsulphured goods, this year only 5% are, so there is a certain shortage here.
