Dried apricots: no total standstill

MALATYA. Market activities for dried apricots have not come to an entire standstill. Price expectations for the first volumes of the new crop are circulating. Exports have taken a hit in May and economic disaster is looming.

Market not entirely subdued

Again, a sunny week is forecasted for Malatya this week with night temperatures ranging at 14-20C (57-68F) and day temperatures at 29-37C (84-99F). Trading is largely subdued, not only because of the severe frost witnessed on 12 April but also because the market tends to be rather calm at this time of year. There is, however, one exception with limited buying taking place.
