MALATYA. Following the frost shock and the total loss of this year's crop, there is still virtually no trading activity on the Turkish dried apricot market. At least exports have not yet slumped too much.

Exports continue

A good mix of sun and rain is forecast for this week in Malatya, with night-time temperatures of 18-20°C and daytime temperatures of up to 34°C. Weekly exports are now slightly lower than last year; 702 mt of dried apricots and apricot products were shipped overseas last week, compared to 845 mt in the same week last year. However, at 68,476 mt, total exports since the start of the season are still significantly higher than the 59,317 mt shipped in the same period last year.
