MALATYA. In cutting the raw apricot supply and in taking the resulting rise in prices over the last few weeks into account the traders did everything they could to deter buyers. With great success it seems.

Stop put to demand
Following the price increase of the last week, the export prices for dried apricots from Turkey have finally stabilised for now. The prices for dried apricots no. 4 have even dropped by 100 USD/mt since last week, depending on the seller.

The warm weather poses an increased risk for the crop. Unfortunate timing in the case of an early blossom and a late frost could result in serious damages. In addition, this winter saw an overall low rate of precipitation, which could adversely affect the quality and quantity of the crop.
