MALATYA. Although the exporters are in general satisfied with the enquiries they receive for dried apricots, there are also calls for change in Turkey. Market players agree that there are opportunities to generate larger profits.

Seeking for new ways to increase turnover

The export demand for dried apricots may generally speaking be very good, and yet there are calls in Turkey to increase turnover in exports in the fruit and vegetable markets. The export value for dried apricots has indeed declined continuously between 2014 and 2017. With exports still valued at USD 348 million in 2014 this figure shrunk to USD 263 million in 2017. At the same time, the export volume was much larger in 2017 than in 2014. The average export prices declined from 4,400 USD/mt in 2014 to 2,800 USD
