BEIJING. Due to low demand, the Chinese market for dried beans has seen some significant price declines - with one exception. The prospect of price increases in the near future is rather slim.

Hardly any transactions for black kidney beans

Few transactions are currently taking place in the black kidney bean market. Most companies are either reducing their stocks or only filling them with the bare necessities to fulfil their current contracts. They are afraid of otherwise being stuck with their goods in the face of low demand. Traders who had bought black kidney beans at higher prices at the beginning of the season may now be making losses as prices have fallen by USD 30/mt compared to the end of March.
