NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. While export prices have declined again, the Indian domestic market for chickpeas has seen the first signs of a price recovery. The situation on the international market is also easing slightly. The market in Canada remains calm.

Further price increases likely

After almost a month and a half of continuous decline, the Indian chickpea market is now showing signs of recovery. Although export prices have fallen slightly again compared to last week, there have already been slight increases on the domestic market, especially for goods from Maharashtra. Market experts predict this trend to continue in the coming weeks and anticipate price increases of up to USD 0.18/kg. In Madhya Pradesh, there have been significant arrivals on the markets recently, but most of these have been sold at lower prices
