AYDIN. Offers are highly limited in Turkey. Interested buyers still need to be prepared to pay a lot. To make matters worse a new problem has occurred now.

Sour figs

Although the actual crop size of 80,000 mt was actually very promising, the drying phase has turned out to be anything but satisfactory. Rain has damaged about 30-40% of the fruits and the market is now confronted with a new problem – sour figs. Supplies of high-quality figs are low and even they are affected by figs turning sour. Since it is next to impossible to determine taste it is the customers, who are the first to notice if the figs are sour after delivery. The longer the figs are stored the higher the risk of them turning sour.
