AYDIN. Somewhere in the price jungle of the Turkish dried fig market there are occasionally still free positions for prompt delivery. Buyers, however, have to cut back, either on prices or on the quality of the goods.

Prices do not recover
Market participants hope to be able to supply the low quality dried figs to less demanding customers in the course of Ramadan purchases. These offers are more in the lower price segment from 4,500 USD/mt FOB Izmir. For the few remaining positions premium goods in the free market, buyers have to pay up to 8,500 USD/mt FOB. Hardly any supplier, however, currently actively offers goods; the prices quoted are purely indicative.
