AYDIN. Rainfall is reported to have caused serious crop losses in parts of Aydin. In addition, further harvest delays are expected in the high altitudes. Meanwhile, the export of fresh figs has started.

Rain comes at an inopportune time

In the Turkish fig province of Aydin, there has been unexpectedly heavy rainfall in the past few days. Especially in the Nazilli area, farmers are said to have been affected by crop damage due to the rainfall. The chairman of the local Chamber of Agriculture, Yahya Anlıak, said that humidity and heavy winds are likely to have reduced the crop by 15-20%. Nevertheless, the harvest continues.
