AYDIN. Release orders are boosting Turkey's dried fig exports. Excellent conditions prevail for the new crop. Limited supplies are, however, giving rise to large differences in price.

Weekly exports pick up

Demand for dried figs has picked up in Turkey, especially since release orders are driving up export volumes. Turkey thereby exported 1,433 mt of dried figs and related products overseas last week, which is up on the 869 mt shipped overseas in the same week last year. At 55,957 mt total exports for the season, however, range lower than last year's 57,014 mt, which is mainly because the current season started two weeks later than last year.
