AYDIN. Due to the increased aflatoxin levels in Turkish dried figs, shipments to Europe could be on the brink. Exporters are already looking for alternative sales markets.

Buyers are not receiving any offers

In view of the continuing problems with the export of dried figs with elevated levels of aflatoxin and ochratoxin, particularly for shipments to Europe, some Turkish exporters have reorganised their business. Although they continue to sell their figs to overseas buyers, they have looked for sales markets in countries whose regulations are not quite as strict, which is why the limit values remain within the permitted range here.
