Dried figs: exports slump in February

TEHRAN. As Iran is preparing to celebrate Nowruz, which marks the start of the new year on 20 March, new export figures have been issued for dried figs. Although a decline has been noted, suppliers report that the market has received a boost.

Competitive prices drive up exports

Iran shipped 919 mt of dried figs worth USD 2.78 million overseas between 20 January and 20 February. Although exports are down 14.7% in terms of volume and 14.8% in terms of value on January, they are 12.5% up in terms of volume and 9.7% up in terms of value on February 2020.
