AYDIN. Attention in Turkey is currently focused on fresh fruit for direct consumption. Dried figs are rather consigned to the shadows until the new season starts.

Fear of precipitation
Hardly any trader still has remaining supplies. At the same time, those who still have unsold goods in stock do not want to carry these into the new season. Price indications remain stable at a high level. The harvest is set to begin at the start of August at the earliest.

Market players reckon that rainfall currently presents a high risk for figs. So far, it has mainly rained in Manisa (sultanas) and parts of Malatya (apricots).
