Rain lets farmers breathe a sigh of relief

After the Aydin growing region was hit by a severe drought, heavy rains last week brought some relief. While it is far from enough, one market players said, it is better than nothing. So far, the fruit set is developing well and without any abnormalities. The fluctuations of the unstable lira continue and compared to last week the Turkish currency has lost value again. Farmgate prices are in a range of TRY 23-30/kg, export prices are mostly unchanged, but vary significantly depending on the supplier.
