Dried figs: good crop prospects

AYDIN. Favourable weather conditions combined with artificial irrigation ensure that the fig trees are developing well and the growers are optimistic about the new crop. Exports are also running satisfactorily at the moment.

Crop could be almost 7% higher

The Turkish fig market has had a quiet week and the weather conditions are pleasant for spring. The farmers still have to irrigate their plantations artificially due to the drought, but this has not led to any problems so far. In addition, they continue to supply the trees with sufficient fertiliser and pesticides.
