AYDIN. Turkish dried fig exporters are showing little demand. This is making growers nervous. The 2024/2025 season will end with significantly lower export figures than last year.

Demand remains modest

Fig farmers in the Turkish province of Aydin have now completed the harvest. Although exporters have now started purchasing dried figs, commodity prices have fallen. Demand remains modest for the time being and growers are becoming nervous. After last year's experience, many traders are reluctant to purchase large quantities for fear that there could be problems with elevated aflatoxin and ochratoxin levels again this time.
