Prices expected to rise

After the heavy rains two weeks ago, the fig trees are now confronted with a heatwave in Aydin. With daytime temperatures of around 40C and nighttime temperatures ranging at 20C the fruits are exposed to a lot of stress. Market players are very much concerned that the quality may suffer and that farmgate prices may continue to rise this season. Official production estimates are still to be released and should be issued later this week. More offers for the new crop should also be available by then.
