AYDIN. Extreme heat has promtped farmers to start harvesting figs earlier in Turkey this year. Yields will be lower than last year, but the quality better.

With daytime termperatures remaining at a stubbornly high 40-42C (104-108F) and nighttime temperatures offering little respit at 24C (75F) and higher the fig harvest, which normally starts later, has been brought forward.
