Dried figs: massive price jump

AYDIN. As stocks continue to dwindle, prices for Turkish dried figs are rising rapidly. There seems to be no end in sight, while the available stocks are shrinking.

Prices are out of control

Although there are virtually no more freely available goods, prices on the Turkish dried fig market are spiralling out of control. The price indications are mostly hypothetical, nothing is really being offered anymore and the last remaining stocks are often reserved for the exporters' existing customers.

Prices for dried figs have reached an all-time high and have risen significantly again this week. The commodity prices are around TRY 250/kg, dried figs, Lerida, no 6 have increased from TRY 120-130/kg to TRY 225/kg since the beginn
