Dried figs: optimistic outlook for the new season

AYDIN. In Turkey, fig trees are developing under good conditions, which should benefit this year's crop. At the same time, weekly export figures are above those of last year.

Market players are confident

The fig trees in Aydin continue to develop under favourable weather conditions. It remains summery hot and in between rain showers provide the necessary cooling and supply the growing regions with moisture. This makes market players look positively to the coming season, as these conditions promise an improvement in the yield and quality of the crop. Prices are then likely to decline in the new season. As usual, however, a lot can happen in the next few months, which is why the tide could still turn.
