Dried figs: preparations are in full swing

AYDIN. In Turkey, dried fig production is now almost complete and the 2022/2023 export season is due to officially start next week. There are, however, significant price differences.

Yields remain uncertain

Due to the unfavourable weather conditions of the past weeks, there are enormous differences in the quality of this year's dried figs. Depending on the trader, prices can sometimes vary by USD 960-1,160/mt. Commodity prices for good quality dried figs range from TRY 70-75/kg, while farmgate prices from growers vary from TRY 40/kg to 75/kg.
