Dried figs: rainfall creates good conditions

AYDIN. Compared to other dried fruit regions in Turkey, the province of Aydin is spared the risk of frost. Exports, meanwhile, are doing surprisingly well despite Ramadan.

Rain expected in Aydin

In the Turkish fig region of Aydin, the temperatures are in the average range, and rain showers should also bring relaxation in the coming days. The price differences between large and small dried figs have narrowed, since due to a lack of supply small fruits are hardly available. Farmgate prices for Turkish dried figs vary between TRY 45 and 68/kg depending on size and variety. Export prices are maintaining the level of the past few weeks and suppliers have adjusted their working hours to Ramadan.
