AYDIN. Last week's rains have impacted the quality of the figs and supplies in export quality are expected to be more limited.

Estimates for Turkey's dried fig production range at 92,000 mt. Last week's rains coupled with high humidity, however, caused some fruits that were already laid out for drying to burst. This will limit supplies of figs in export quality, especially to the EU where higher quality requirements prevail. Tariş, Turkey's fig association, has also issued purchasing prices for this year's crop.
