AYDIN. The first exporters on the Turkish dried fig market are finding it difficult to fulfil outstanding contracts as they cannot find any goods. Prices are being adjusted accordingly.

Early end of season for traders?

Turkish dried fig exporters are facing major problems. Raw material supplies have been used up and, according to market players, individual suppliers still have open contracts but no more goods to fulfil them. Exporters who have no more figs to ship will have to close their doors for the last few months until the new crop will be available. Those who still have goods are regularly adjusting prices upwards.
