Exports of Organically products

The exports of organically products may grow threefold by 2020.

In today's time the demand and need for organic products has drastically increased to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to make sure what are you putting in your body is not chemicals and it is safe. 

And the demand for organic goods is what shifting the farmers to grow organic products, though it's taking time but it'll eventually increase. 

The restrictions from government were also to be responsible for low organic exports and farmers not willing to harvest organic products in the past but however, The Union Cabinet to allow unrestricted exports of all certified organic agricultural products, a move which would help in boosting shipments.

However, these products should be certified by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).

Removal of quantitative celling on wheat, sugar, non- basmati rice, organic sugar and increasing the limit on export of organic pulses (due to acute shortage) is expected to contribute to the Government's objective of doubling the farmers' income. 

Huge export potential exist in countries including the US, Europe and Canada. India's export of organic goods have increased from USD 12.4 million in 2002-03 to USD 298 million in 2015-16.

India mainly exports organic wheat, non-basmati rice and sugar.
