Figs: When to buy?

AYDIN. Turkish fig suppliers do their main business before the Christmas holidays, and that is still more than four weeks away.

For some time already, the prices for dried figs are maintaining their current level, and demand is stable. The export volume is only a few hundred tons above that of the previous year.

Negotiating is always an option
Traders are counting on price increases of up to 100 USD/mt at the beginning of the new year. Even though demand will ease off markedly until then, remaining carry-overs on the market will still have to last until end of September. Should there be concrete inquiries, prices can usually be renegotiated.
