Figs: Deadline in sight

AYDIN. Only a few more weeks until Christmas. That leaves Turkish fig suppliers with only little room for exports anymore.

Usually, the main business with Turkish dried figs is taken care of before the turn of the year. There is enough merchandise available and prices are stable, although buyers suspect lower prices are possible.

Germany in the lead
Exports of dried figs from Turkey are at a similar level as that of last year. A solid 15,700 mt of dried figs were shipped abroad in the first weeks of the new season. The largest importers by far are Germany (2,575 mt), and France (2,212 mt).
