Flaxseed: Canada might correct cultivation forecast

OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. Canada's acreages are benefiting from rainfall. At the same time, market players expect a correction of the official cultivation forecast in the coming days. Eastern European flaxseed is significantly cheaper than in the past weeks.

Prices drop noticeably

In April this year, prices for cleaned brown flaxseed originating in Russia/Kazakhstan reached a new record high of EUR 1,475/mt. Since then, however, the situation has eased noticeably. By now, brown flaxseed, 99.9% purity is available from EUR 1,060/mt EXW Poland, for golden flaxseed offers are at EUR 1,300/mt EXW Poland. The last time prices were this low was before the start of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
