ASTANA. Rainfall is causing problems for Kazakh flaxseed farmers. The new crop is not expected to reach the market before October and buyers have to be prepared for price adjustments.

New crop not until October

Market players expect a massive increase in flaxseed prices from Kazakhstan in the near future. Heavy rainfall has hit the country in the past few days and more rain is expected in the course of the week. This delays the harvest and market experts reckon that there will be no significant offers for the new flaxseed crop before October. This leads to challenges, because the stocks from the 2022 crop are also virtually exhausted.
