Flaxseed: hope for price declines in the new year

OTTAWA/NUR-SULTAN. The current flaxseed report from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada does not bring any relief. In Eastern Europe, flaxseed prices have stabilised at their high level.

Crop forecast remains sobering

It is no longer a secret that this season's flaxseed crop has been lower in all the main growing countries. In Canada, prices are beginning to decline and have come down from their all-time high. Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, however, is leaving the price forecast for the current season at CAD 1,150/mt; in the 2020/2021 season, average prices were still at CAD 693/mt.
