NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. Prices remain high in the international flaxseed market. Last year's profits enable farmers in Kazakhstan to hold back supplies and drive up prices. A high degree of uncertainty has gripped the market.

Only few offers are being issued

Supplies are limited in Kazakhstan as many farmers and traders are holding back. Although some producers do not have the possibility to store supplies and are forced to sell the new crop, last year's high prices are helping many growers to wait. Offers should remain limited until December/January.

Cleaning facilities are currently offering brown flaxseed with a 99% purity for EUR 1.02/kg FCA Poland. Raw material prices range at EUR 750/mt FCA Kazakhstan and at EUR 790/mt FOB Russia. A high degree of uncertainty has gripped th
