WARSAW. Ice and snow brought the flaxseed harvest in Canada to a halt.

Canada in a state of shock
The flaxseed harvest in Canada has been completely stopped. Ice and snow are currently making it impossible for farmers to bring in their crop. The situation is so bad that contracts with China cannot be fulfilled. As a result, China is buying flaxseed in Russia, and other origins. That is why enormous price increases are expected. Raw Eastern European flaxseed (uncleaned) is currently being offered for 255 EUR/mt EXW. Price increases of up to 280 EUR/mt cannot be excluded.
