Flaxseed: tough negotiations

NUR-SULTAN. While the first new crop arrivals have been registered southern Kazakhstan, harvesting has not even started in other parts of the country. Flaxseed suppliers and traders agree that a high degree of uncertainty persists for the new season.

Too dry in Kazakhstan

With daytime temperatures varying between 12C and 38C (53.6F and 100.4F) the weather is are far from ideal for Kazakhstan’s new flaxseed crop. Local traders also report that conditions are far too dry and that low yields are to be expected. Silver lining, however, is that conditions are not as bad as last year. Extensive heat and sunshine have not created any damage so far.
