DALIAN. Market players reckon that the new goji berry crop in China will be available shortly. Due to the strong demand, growers hope to be able to push through commodity prices in the new season.

Prices remain high

Goji berry stocks are running low on the Chinese market. Farmers have already sold off most of their raw materials. The goods that are currently still available can therefore only be obtained at correspondingly high prices and further price increases are to be expected until the new crop arrives. In mid-May, conventional goji berries, 380 pcs./100g, were still trading at USD 6,205/mt CFR in Hamburg, while prices for organic goji berries were at USD 7,680/mt CFR.

New crop should soon be available

According to the experts at Dalian East Dawn Nuts, however, the new crop is imminent. Shipments should be able to start as early as July. The good sales figures for the 2024/2025 season have prompted Chinese goji farmers to grow more goji berries this year. At the same time, growers are also hoping to be able to sell their crop at correspondingly higher prices, which is likely to be reflected in the offers for the new crop. Traders therefore recommend stocking up early.
