30 MT of wheat this year for the central pool

The government agencies target to buy 30 million tonnes of Wheat during the rabi marketing season and till today they've covered 29.26 million tonnes of wheat and they continue buying from Utter Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and till June 15, they'll continue to buy and hoping till then they'll have reached the target of 30 million tonnes.

Procurement of foodgrains would be promoted to ensure benefit of minimum support price (MSP) to farmers across the country.

But 30 million tonnes wasn't the first target, earlier this year the target was set to 33 million tonnes.

Where as in Utter Pradesh, the chief minister said that they will ensure that the wheat procurement  will remain close to 4 million tonnes.

Rajasthan wasn't able to met the procurement  target and was short of 1.75 million tonnes.
