Quality issues and speculators

With the new year approaching fast all eyes are set on January. Rather than weather conditions and news from the orchards providing an insight for next year’s crop, exporters are presently more concerned with costs, exchange rate fluctuations and supplies. Quality is also an issue that will determine the situation at the start of the year.

Although some exporters point out that the market has got used to trading with high levels of stink bug infested cargo with purchasing decisions and inspections being made accordingly,
