ORDU. Buyers from the euro region continue to benefit from the weak Turkish lira; they can buy hazelnuts at prices that are the lowest they have been for years.

Prices not seen since 2014

The DDP prices for Turkish hazelnuts, natural, 11–13 mm have dropped below the five-euro mark. These are the lowest prices since the end of March 2014.

Buyers are making use of the low prices and continue to stock up, exports are also doing well. Since the beginning of the season, more than 62,000 mt of hazelnuts have been exported from Turkey – a year-on-year increase of way above 50%. The good shipping figures should also continue over the coming weeks.
