Hazelnuts: quality to remain a problem

Quality issues

Weather conditions are still favourable with frost no longer posing a risk for the 2026 crop. Yet, concerns persist as the quality of the nuts is expected to be problematic. Trouble is that last year’s frost has badly affected the trees and that bug infestation will be high, which was also the case last year, meaning that kernel growth will not be healthy. This is particularly concerning for organic producers.
