ORDU. Rising financing costs are forcing many stockholders in Turkey to sell their goods – even if they incur losses at current prices. The TMO is not expected to enter the market.

Prices falling sharply

The market for Turkish hazelnuts is currently seeing a downward trend in prices, and export prices for natural kernels have fallen by around 10%. This is already the second consecutive price drop, and exporters are expecting further price reductions. Inshell hazelnuts of the Levantine quality currently cost TRY 180–200/kg, while the Giresun quality is trading at TRY 240/kg. The export price for natural hazelnut kernels currently ranges between EUR 9.00–9.15/kg DAP Central Europe.
