ORDU. Although the exporters in Turkey are receiving an increasing number of enquiries, the sales figures for the new season fall short of expectations.

Firmer prices for the new crop

The anticapted decline of the Turkish lira has so far failed to materialise. Instead, the currency has even gained considerably in value over the last few weeks. Although the production estimates remain good, the prices are much firmer and the exporters are only providing offers for the new crop at a risk premium. For the buyers this may mean that the best time for conductin purchases is already over. The final counts are in progress right now. Nothing definte is yet known about the core sizes, this should, however, change soon. Market
