Millet: just under 102,000 mt in Ukraine

DALIAN/KYIV. The millet harvest in Ukraine was finished comparatively late, with a lower result than last year. Meanwhile, Germany's imports increased by about 4% year-on-year.

Declining production

Ukrainian farmers were still busy harvesting millet in January. As of today, 44,700 ha could be harvested, which is 99% of the sown area. With an average yield of 2.28 mt/ha, the 2022/2023 crop brings the total to 101,800 mt. Last year, Ukrainian millet production was 184,700 mt. On the European spot market, prices for hulled millet from Ukraine are at 0.67 EUR/kg FCA Poland.
