Millet: EU imports down by almost 10%

DALIAN/BRUSSELS. EU countries have imported around 10% less millet from third countries so far this season. Prices in China have been volatile, but have remained within a narrow range.

Slight ups and downs

According to market players, medium-sized and large processors still have sufficient millet stocks. However, some are stocking up on cheaper carry-over stocks from last year's crop, and third-grade millet is also an option for some mills in order to meet demand. Experts at Zhuochuang Information currently reckon that, based on the current supply and demand situation, millet prices do not have much room for manoeuvre and should remain stable overall.
